Appointments

Our practice operates an appointment-based system, offering a range of different appointment times to suit the circumstances of the visit.

Booking appointments with our general practitioner can be made:

  • In person at the reception desk.
  • Over the telephone, on 9444 8977.

Please note that appointments are required for prescriptions, repeat prescriptions, specialist referrals and review of abnormal test results.

Please call to speak to one of our receptionists to check if your results have returned prior to booking a follow-up appointment with your general practitioner.

Standard Appointments

A standard consultation is generally suitable for a single issue for an individual patient, eg:

  • Ear infection.
  • Urinary tract infection.
  • Colds or ‘flu.
  • Vaccinations
  • Follow-up appointments.

If more than one person from your family wishes to see the doctor at the same time, please ensure a separate appointment is made for each family member.

Long Appointments

We strive to make sure we give each patient the time they need to prevent taking up the time of other patients. Therefore, it is important to let reception know if a longer consultation is required. Examples of longer consultations include, but are not limited to:

  • Multiple or complex issues.
  • Skin cancer checks.
  • Insurance medicals.
  • Cervical screening.
  • Mental health issues.
  • Care plans.
  • If you need an interpreter.

Urgent Appointments

We keep a number of ‘on-the-day’ appointments for existing patients who need to see a general practitioner who are acutely unwell. Please call our reception team if there is an acute issue and we will make every effort to triage you into an appointment as soon as possible.

Children who are unwell are seen on the same day.

Cancellation of Appointments

Please notify us if you are unable to attend an appointment as soon as possible so we can offer that appointment to another patient.

Waiting Times

We try our best to run as close to time as possible, however, some people may be more unwell than they thought on booking their appointment and may need more time than they had booked for.

When we are running considerably late, we will do our best to contact you before you attend the practice to arrange a later time or to rebook your appointment. Please feel free to call the practice to check if the general practitioner is on time.

Translator and Interpreter Services

For non-English speaking patients the Translating and Interpreter Services (TIS) is available. For patients who are hearing impaired, assistance is provided through the National Relay Services (NRS). Please inform reception if you require one of these services at the time of booking your appointment and the practice will arrange this service for you. There are no additional costs involved with the practice providing these services.

Home Visits

We offer home visits in the local area for regular patients who are too sick to attend the practice. These visits are at the discretion of the general practitioner. Please call the practice directly for a home visit request.

Afterhours Arrangements

If you require medical attention outside of our practice opening hours, please:

  • Call 000 in an emergency.
  • Telephone our afterhours service, Doctor Home Visits (WADMS) on telephone number 9321 9133.
